At kodustudio.com I collect as little as I can get away with: enough to know which work people look at, and nothing more. This policy sets out what is collected, why, and what happens to it. There are no forms on this site, nothing is sold, and nothing is shared beyond the services listed below.

Kodu Studio, run by Lachlan Sarv in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. If you have a question about any of this, or you want something removed, email kodudesignstudio@gmail.com and it comes straight to me.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which projects get looked at. Between them they record the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and the browser and device you are on. It tells me what is worth showing more of. It is not used to identify you, and I never try to. Google processes this data on my behalf, and you can opt out of it entirely with Google’s browser add-on.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics sets cookies so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. The site itself saves exactly one thing in your browser: whether you chose light or dark mode. That never leaves your device and is not sent anywhere.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel and served through their network. Like any web host, their servers keep standard request logs that include IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Embedded video

One project page embeds a YouTube video through youtube-nocookie.com, which stops YouTube setting tracking cookies unless you actually press play. If you do play it, YouTube’s own privacy policy takes over from there.

Fonts

The typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page does not quietly tell a third party that you visited.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you and ask for it to be deleted, and you can opt out of the analytics at any time using an ad blocker, your browser’s tracking protection, or Google’s opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site breaks if you do. Email me and I will sort out anything else.

If any of this changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
